was recently moved to Putrajaya,
a newly created city exclusively designed for

Malaysia has 13 states. The head of state of Malaysia
is known as the Yang di -

member of ASEAN. Its economy is steadily growing and it is a relatively
rich country in Southeast Asia. Malaysia is a multi-religious society, and Islam is the country's official religion. The four main religions
are Islam (55.4% of the people), Buddhism (29.2%), Christianity (6.1%, mostly in East Malaysia, i.e., Borneo), and Hinduism (7.8%), according to government census figures in 2009.

the heart place of Kuala Lumpur. Then we resumed our journey and moved to Tan

Tan Chong Motors
We received a warm welcome from Tan Chong Motors employees. We had an
interaction with Mr Mohammed Faizal, Senior HR Executive. They have two plants
with hundred percent capacity utilization which are located at Serendah and
Segambut. From top to bottom level they have almost 3000 employees engaged in
their activities. In both of the plants there are three group of workers each
operating in two shifts. The company has a plan to expand their production
capacity further by 2015.
The Segambut plant was established in 1977, and the new plant in
Serendah established in 2007.At Serendah plant they are producing three models
currently,viz, Almera,Teana, X-Gear, NV200 Vanette. Almera comes in four
variants,Teana in two variants, X-Gear in one variant and NV 200 Vanette in one
variant as well. At Segambut plant they are producing four models at present
viz; X-Trial, Luvran, Navara, and Serena. Other than all of these they are into
heavy commercial vehicles like CKM272DT and CKB45ACT. For the production
process at Serendah plant they make use of 3D layout machine, edcoating
process, CPM manipulator system, KIT supply system and Trim line interior
designing machine. The painting of assembled vehicles and parts have been done
at the paint shop section with the help of 6 robots.
Their sophisticated production and assembly process and a wide variety
of models to offer has brought a positive effect on the market for them as
their Almera 3 model beats Toyota Vios. During the interaction session they
displayed us the pictures of CEO’s plant visit. Once the automobiles have been
assembled they will be sent for road test, if any defects or problems found, it
will be rectified. The company use to acquire machineries required for assembly
process and car engines from Japan, chasis from Thailand and spares from

The company’s vision is to “be the best quality assembling plan” and
they have a mission to “continue to strive in delivering higher quality
products”. They aim at bringing out individual potential to build an energetic

the plants are fully automated for complex process and semi automated for some
less complex process. The parts are assembled in the plant; there are different
sections like bumper section, side parts section etc called assembly shop.
